Cornelius O'Connor was born in Ireland in the 1850s. He came to the United States as a young child. He eventually settled in Anaconda, Montana, where he was a boarding house owner, stonecutter, and smelter worker. He served for a time as an alderman for the City of Anaconda. He enlisted on May 1, 1898 in the First Montana Infantry during the Spanish American War. He was mustered out in October 1899. He died in Anaconda December 11, 1925.
